Achillea 'Schwellenberg' |

| | I like the white-fuzzy buds |
Hybrid yarrow, with flat yellow flowerheads and ferny gray-green foliage. It is fairly similar to A. filipendulina 'Cloth of Gold', but its flowers are a paler shade of yellow, and the plant grows much shorter ('Cloth of Gold' reaches to 4 ft), so that it has less tendency to flop. It's been reasonably happy in the sub-ideal conditions provided by our driveway bed, neither significantly spreading nor sulking over its lot in life.

- Attempted to grow from "seed" material collected in '06 garden. No typical seed particles found (contrast with A. filipendula 'Cloth of Gold' - lots of seeds), and no germination at 70F with light, 15d
