Rosa 'New Dawn'

Rosa 'New Dawn'
climbing rose
Rosa 'New Dawn'
Late August bloom, more white than pink

Common name climbing rose
Family rosaceae
Life cycle perennial shrub (Z5-9)
Flowers blush pink (June-October)
Size climber to 12'
Light sun-part shade

Climber known for its disease resistance. We don't do very well with roses, so we're hoping this will be as problem-free as its reputation suggests. Blooms come from late spring through the end of the season.
We got ours in early November, already past its seasonal prime but still blooming, as the photo here shows. Hopefully it will conquer the arbor next year.

Surprisingly evergreen - this photo taken in early January, but still green after deep freezes in February

The rosy streak across the bud coordinates nicely with the red thorns

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
