Most commonly grown as a houseplant, this is not a true fern, but named for its finely divided foliage giving it a fern-like appearance. Insignificant white flowers may appear during the growing season. It needs consistent soil moisture and adequate humidity to keep looking its best. Ours survived a freeze down to about 18°F without protection in its first winter in our garden, so perhaps a little hardier than zone 9.
