Aloe cooperi |
 |
| Nicely formed bulbs on second-year plants |
Smaller aloe species with narrow leaves. In summer, sends up stalks 18-36 inches tall, topped with clusters of coral red flowers. Relatively hardy, and evergreen in mild climates. Can be multiplied by transplanting its offsets. I couldn't find my spring seedlings on a routine check in late fall, but several of them came back by early spring – so I guess they went dormant in the heat and drought of summer.
