We've grown 'Dale's Strain' a few times, which is a good foliage plant - the flowers aren't much to look at. It doesn't seem to last very long, though. Our other bona fide named hybrid is the commonly grown 'Palace Purple', which is nicest in spring, when the deep burgundy foliage really shines. Other hybrids have come in through seed trades - although they usually came labeled with a cultivar name, the progeny generally has mixed colors and patterning. Recent attempts are named 'Velvet Night' and 'Ebony and Ivory'.
