Taxus baccata 'Repandens'

Taxus baccata 'Repandens'
Common name spreading English yew
Family taxaceae
Life cycle shrub (Z5)
Size 4' high (wider spread)
Light sun-part shade

Lower-growing evergreen conifer, with nice dark-green foliage. Supposedly a fruit-bearing female clone, but I haven't noticed fruit. We use two of them (where else?) as a foundation planting, allowing the plants to spread and grow together. The twig in between is a witch hazel, which we hope benefits from the fact that the yews shade its root zone.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
