"Interesting" species that occurs widespread on the Arabian peninsula and through Africa. It has inconspicuous flowers in summer. Evergreen in mild climates, but not hardy here in Pennsylvania, where I could overwinter the dormant bulbs indoors, leaving them dry through the cold months. Perhaps I'll try that, to see if they gain in impact as they mature.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
